Medical Nutrition Therapy to provide nutrition counseling for a medical diagnosis (Diabetes, Cardiology, Obesity, etc.)
Gentle Nutrition and Intuitive Eating Guidance to help rebuild a stable structure and relationship to food by focusing on internal cues around hunger, fullness, and satiety, while also helping to heal the relationship with food and our bodies.
Nutrition education on a variety of nutrition problems such as heart healthy nutrition, increased calorie needs, adding protein, increasing fiber, vitamin and mineral abnormalities, constipation, etc.
Referral:
Medicare & Medicaid patients must have referral from a medical provider.All patients must have referral from a medical provider
Be sure to to check with your private insurance to determine if they cover nutrition therapy.
Are Services Covered by Insurance?
Medicare – Covers Diabetes, CKD, and kidney transplants within last 36 months.Medicaid – Covers all nutrition-related appts up to 21 yo, then only Intensive Behavioral Therapy (IBT) for patients with a BMI >30.
Private Insurance coverage will vary. It is recommended each patient check with their insurance to determine their insurance policy’s coverage.
